Before you read further, it's important to clarify that the lessons are not a lecture where Jake tells you where you have to improve your communication by doing this and that, or telling you how to improve your relationship. The lessons are also not a counselling session.
The lessons are just like a regular class where you learn steps and techniques in dancing together.
Where these lessons differ to any other, is the techniques and principles are applied personally to how you and your partner relate whilst learning the dance together. Sometimes with obvious reference to everyday situations, often more subtly through words and phrases used whilst you are learning the steps and techniques.
Time 2 Dance is more than just learning to dance. It's a unique experience designed to enrich your relationship with your partner as you discover the secrets to more effective communication. It's a fun, practical and inexpensive way of spending quality time together that you can use for life.
Using the secrets to the art of partnership dancing, Jake applies those principles to the way a couple communicates in their everyday interactions with each other.
For example: To effectively move together around the dance floor there must be an open two way communication between the lead and follow. Its not the lead telling the follow where to go! He must listen to his partner in order to know whether she is comfortable with how he is leading, where he is leading her and whether she understands what he is actually trying to lead!
In our relationships we need to listen and speak clearly, and continually, to have effective communication, rather than leaving our partner to guess what we are trying to say. This is one of the skills that Jake assists you to develop.
Guys love to hold their gals, to have that physical connection, and gals love the intimacy of sharing time with their partner. What better way to further develop and deepen your relationship with your partner, than spending time learning about how to communicate more effectively... in each other's arms.
