| One of the most common practices for businesses today is to employ the services of someone to inspire and equip your team and yourself, in order to improve productivity and a positive workplace environment.
These specialists mainly deliver lectures on certain topics, get you to do some fun activities together, and some specialists even take you away for these lectures, fun activities and adventures. After having lead on over 100 camps and been a camps programme director for two years, I have used many of these activities for youth and adult groups, and know of the benefits that they give to a team.
But there is only a certain number of times that we can sit in lectures, and do those fun activities before we start to look for something different..
Are you ready for something different?
Then it's Time 2 Dance!
Time 2 Dance is more than just learning to dance. Its a unique experience designed to bring your team closer together as they discover the secrets to more effective communication. Using the secrets to the art of partnership dancing, I apply those principles to the way people communicate in the workplace environment.
For example: To effectively move together around the dance floor there must be open two way communication between the lead and follow. Its not just the lead telling the follow where to go! He must listen to his partner in order to know whether she is comfortable with how he is leading, where he is leading her and whether she understands what he is actually trying to lead!
Most businesses work on a hierarchical system, therefore have various levels of leadership. For us to lead effectively we need to listen and speak clearly, and continually, to have effective communication with our team members and clients, rather than telling them what to do and assume they heard and understood us.
Having been a camp leader and programme director with over 100 kids and staff under my care, and a dance instructor with over a 150 students a week, I understand the importance of clear communication, open communication, and efficient communication.
